Macquarie University Structural Analysis
Within each structures class, we completed a series of projects: one primarily analysis, one with basic structural system modeling, and one with custom structural system creation based on specific project constraints. Here, we analyzed and calculated loading conditions for The Incubator, a building meant to be a temporary addition to Macquarie University. The building was highly prefabricated, shipped to site, and delivered and assembled in the overnight hours. The structural system was made of mass timber, with custom facade panels to frame the exterior windows. We also modeled a single structural bay of the project, as seen below, to better understand how the bay functioned.
